Submitted a proposal for $60k for some project. They come back with a tech eval and state “Please review. If you agree with our eval resubmit by Friday for award”. Those fuckers cut it to $20k. No that’s cool, we don’t need to test any soil or concrete, or haul spoils off site, or pay dump charges, or any of the other stuff we’re supposed to do.

Resubmit at $60k again and hope that some finance officer has a wicked hangover.

We will probably resubmit at $50 or so. Most of this is a function of end-user funds, which they can’t tell us up front because reasons I guess.

But your customer is already treating you like an asshole, it only seems fair to return the favor.

Trust me, I would like nothing more than to do so.

Solution:
Switch to CPIF-> rebid 20k-> make all incentives on quality vice time or dollars-> overrun.

Yeah, and when you go to those place you see the results of cutting corners on all your construction. I’m too lazy to dig up some of the pictures I took, but it ain’t pretty, but it is funny in a sad way.
